Mark your calendars! Gator By the Bay is happening Today- Sunday, May 12th at Spanish Landing Park (3900 North Harbor Drive--across from San Diego Airport). You absolutely won't want to miss the largest and most-authentic Louisiana-themed music and food festival this side of the bayou! Presented by the nonprofit Bon Temps Social Club of San Diego, the four-day cultural celebration will feature more than 100 live musical acts and special performances on seven stages, dance floors filled with happy dancers, delicious cuisine, and a joyous, welcoming ambiance for the whole family. The San Diego City College Department of Athletics 20th Annual Harry West Golf Tournament is set for Friday May 10th at 1pm at the Sycuan Golf Resort.  It will consist of a shotgun-start and best-ball format, followed by a buffet dinner, awards presentation, silent auction and raffle drawing. Jazz 88.3 is proud to support La Jolla Music Society as they present: The Triplets of Belleville, happening TONIGHT(!) at 8PM at The Baker-Baum Concert Hall. Benoit Charest leads Le Terrible Orchestre de Belleville in the live performance of his original score for the film The Triplets of Belleville, including his ACADEMY AWARD® nominated best song “Belleville de Rendez-Vous.” In the spirit of the film, Le Terrible Orchestre de Belleville transports audiences to the exciting streets of 1920’s Paris and Le Jazz Hot. This exclusive, one-of-a-kind tour will be led by Station Manager Ken Poston as he will guide you through all of Frank's hollywood haunts. You will eat dinner in one of Sinatra's favorite restaurants (Matteo's) and get a private screening on the Warner Brothers studio lot of "Ocean's Eleven." If you are a fan of Frank Sinatra you will not want to miss this KSDS fundraising event. Hurry, tickets are VERY LIMITED and it will sell out. Jazz Live is happening TONIGHT and it will feature the debut of vocalist Pinky Winters to the Saville stage. Only current Jazz 88 members can attend this concert. Any questions about membership can be answered by the membership team or you can call Ken Borgers at 619-388-3301. As always, thanks to Big Front Door Sandwich Shop, located in University Heights (Park Blvd.) and now Solana Beach for providing food for the Jazz Live artists. Francis Parker Summer Jazz Workshop, 2020!

Jazz 88.3 is so pleased to support Francis Parker's 10th Annual Summer Jazz Workshop again this year, in partnership with The Music Box! Francis Parker's Summer Jazz Workshop offers middle and high school students an opportunity to study and play music with professional jazz musicians while learning performance skills, improvisation, jazz theory and history. Presented in an online format, but with the same high level of jazz education, Jazz Workshop will provide students a daily three one-hour, live online sessions. Students will receive group instruction on their individual instruments and have access to a variety of sessions covering topics in music theory, jazz improvisation, and masterclasses by our fantastic faculty.This is the perfect venue for students to continue to grow musically as they learn to express themselves through the art of jazz improvisation. The week of July 6 will be offered for middle school students in grades 6 through students entering 9th grade. The week of July 20 will be for high school students in grades 10 through 12. Beginning, intermediate, and advanced students are welcome at each session. Scholarships and financial assistance are available and more information can be found below or by contacting workshop director Nate Jarrell.
