Just when you thought San Diego Jazz Hero Gilbert Castellanos had enough going on, what with his long-time Wednesday Jam sessions, curating the Summer Thursday evening Sunset Poolside Jazz at The Westgate Hotel, working magic at his Friday evening series at The Westgate's Plaza Bar, alongside touring and playing with just about everyone on the planet, he comes up with the What's Next...last week's announcement of his appointment as the Series Curator for the Inaugural Season of the San Diego Symphony's Jazz @ The Jacob's, the recent move of his Young Lion's series to Panama 66 in Balboa Park, the new school year as Artistic Director with Jazz 88.3 Education Partner International Academy of Jazz San Diego (IAJSD), and a Saturday, August 29 collaboration with Joshua White in Tribute to Herbie Hancock and Freddie Hubbard.
