One of the esteemed Jazz Journalists in San Diego, Robert Bush, has promised more reviews of new work from artists like "... Ian Tordella, Rob Thorsen, Danny Green, Butch Lacy +Mark Dresser, Peter Kuhn, Nathan Hubbard just off the top of my head", so looking forward to that! The San Diego Union Tribune, San Diego Troubador, SD Free Press, and more are publishing all the time!

Jackson Design and Remodeling has a new extension to their brand: a 9,000 sq. ft. selection center called Home Expressions! The grand opening will be Saturday, June 18th from 12-4PM and will be one to remember because you'll have the chance to not only explore Home Expressions, but you'll also have the chance to meet Jeff Lewis, star of Bravo’s “Flipping Out,” and enjoy music by Gilbert Castellanos! You can also enjoy food, a champagne toast, and mingle with your San Diego friends and neighbors. Jazz 88.3's annual Summertime Jazz Night Rooftop Concert Series returns to the stunning Westgate Hotel, TONIGHT (6-9PM)! While you're there, you'll not only enjoy live Latin music by Conrad Herwig's Latin-Side All-Stars (which includes: Bill O'Connell- piano. Alex Sipiagin- trumpet, Ruben Rodriguez- bass, Robby Ameen- drums and Fausto Cuevas- congas and, Conrad Herwig- trombone), but also an array of Latin-inspired fare and cocktails. 

In addition, Chris Springer, host of Jazz 88.3's Latin Grooves, will be your host! So mark your calendars and plan to usher in summer with your favorite jazz and blues radio station! Please Note: Admission is $20 per person--cash onlyand you must be 21+ to attend. We'll see you there!

Slide into summer TONIGHT (8:30-11PM) at Solare, with a Cuban-inspired jazz jam, featuring Amistad Cubana--a high-intensity Cuban dance music group from Guanabacoa, Cuba! Feliciano, on bass, is distinctively considered as the pinnacle of modern Cuban bass and renowned by many as the pioneer bassist of the Timba style. Feliciano has worked with musical titans such as Emiliano Salvador, Chucho Valdés, David Murray, and Maraca. Eugenio, on drums, is a conservatory professor of Cuban percussion, and for over 20 years served as percussionist for prestigious singer Pablo Milanés. Ignacio, on guitar, played for over ten years in the Tropicana club in Cuba with Giraldo Piloto and Paquito de Rivera. Cristina, on vocals, is their lead singer. The band plays a variety of songs from traditional Cuban Son to modern Cuban Timba, all written by or re-arranged by Feliciano. They'll be performing songs from the new album: "Llego la Amistad"--you simply won't want to miss it!

Mark your calendars because it's going to be one jam-packed jazz-inspired summer! Every Thursday, from 6:30-9:30PM, jazz enthusiasts can groove to the sounds of Southern California’s finest jazz artists alongside The Westgate Hotel's luxurious pool that's set against the backdrop of downtown San Diego’s skyline.
