On our first Round Up of  2017, we look back at how we rang out 2016 with New Years Eve Across America and our renewed partnership with the La Jolla Athenaeum for their 2017 Jazz Series at The Library and Art Center, along with what was hot on Jazz 88 social media. The First Week of 2017 at Jazz 88.3


2017 started in the afterglow of our the station’s New Year’s Eve 2016 festivities. Music Director Joe Kocherhans selected his Top 10 Discs of 2016 which played in their entirety for most of New Years Day. The releases included new music by…and the list is linked to at Jazz88.org.


On New Years Eve, Jazz 88.3 presented our first “New Years Eve Across America” with the producer of our Friday noon PT weekly concert series “Inside Jazz” ,Tim Pinch. With Live Concert performances introduced by “The Drive” host Ron Dhanifu, between set interviews by SoCal Jazz Authority and Jazz 88.3 Membership Director Ken Borgers, and a live video feed on our website home page, it was a great way to ring out a stellar year for the station and us all.


We also announced our renewed partnership with the La Jolla Athenaeum Music and Arts Library for their Athenaeum Jazz 2017 Season At The Library in La Jolla and Art Center at Bread & Salt in Barrio Logan. Artists include…
