Jazz Live returns to the campus of San Diego City College this Wednesday, May 22nd, when legendary drummer Roy McCurdy brings one of the finest quartets to ever grace the Saville Theatre stage.
Bill Cunliffe— one of the most celebrated jazz composers and arrangers of this or any time — will be at the piano; Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra mainstay Ricky Woodard will be on tenor saxophone; and bassist Mike Gurrola — another of the brightest stars in the Clayton-Hamilton orbit — will anchor as fine and accomplished a rhythm section as you’ll see anywhere, at any time.
